Bad Smut Cliche: Literally eating her out (myth of the steel clit)

I spend a good amount of time reading fanfiction, sometimes of an erotic nature. During which I have noticed that a severe and potentially harmful error in sexual etiquette continues to be depicted as a good idea. Let me preface this by saying that while I’ve never had a sexual partner except my hand, I am a horndog teenager who’s read a substantial amount of articles regarding cunnilingus don’t judge from many websites of varying journalistic credibility. Across the board there seems to be a general consensus that you do not ever bite the clitoris. Why? Because it’s a bundle of nerves and it will fucking hurt. Yet I regularly come across fics in which a bitten clitoris causes the receiving lady to climax.

Clit bites are just one of those little smut fic things, like excessive throbbing or weird euphemisms for genitals. (manhood, core, pulsing sex?) These quirks are kind of silly, but not necessarily bad or problematic. So why am I raining on the clit chewing parade?
